Jefrë, born Jefrë Figueras Manuel, studied at the Art Institute of Chicago prior to receiving a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from Ohio Sate University. He is the first Fiilipino American artist to have a solo exhibit in an accredited US museum, and has created numerous site-specific artworks in cities around the world. He approaches each new project with a process of questioning that builds context, meaning, and relevance for the finished work.
