South Sudan has the eight highest rate of child marriage in the world. Girls that are subjected to child marriage often times face sexual and domestic violence. Additionally. during South Sudan’s long civil war, conflict related sexual violence has become prevalent.

A lot of effort is being made to ensure that Sudanese girls rescued from child marriage and other forms of gender-based violence are able to access education. While education plays a pivotal role in transforming the lives of these girls, their mental health is often times neglected.

Catwalk to Freedom wants to change that by building a trauma center in Juba South Sudan- Freedom House. Catwalk to Freedom works with survivors of sexual violence to provide wholistic recovery from the trauma they have experienced.
